Juneteenth Animated Poster
Being a fan of my maximalist design style, Ban.do reached out to collaborate on a post for Juneteenth as they were intentional about working with a Black artist to celebrate this holiday. I combined static typography and graphic elements with video elements that were composited together to create a visually engaging scene.

I chose this quote by Dr. Opal Lee, the "grandmother of Juneteenth," because as a black woman in her 20’s, persistence is the key to unlocking so many of my hopes, dreams and aspirations. It's a triumphant reminder to black people everywhere to uphold a sense of resilience and determination whenever an obstacle is thrown our way and it’s a testament to the work of many leaders like Opal Lee.
